Trust. God’s been teaching me about this one word lately. It’s easy to trust God when life is going smoothly, and there are no challenges. But, when things don’t turn out as I hoped, or I don’t understand why God’s doing something, or I feel overwhelmed by the busyness of life, I find it hard to trust.
Yet, God continually tells His people throughout Scripture—“Trust in the Lord.” If we believe He’s got a bigger purpose and plan for what’s happening in and around us, why do we find it so hard to trust?
As a result of God showing me my need to grow in this area, I decided to make “trust” our theme for Women’s Ministry this year. Some of you are going through difficult life challenges—with your marriage, your children, your finances, or your health. You may be asking God why. You may be feeling at the end of your rope. You may betempted to take things into your own hands instead of waiting on God to show you the next step. We can’t see what’s around the corner and where God is taking us, but He knows. He sees. God never commands us to understand why, but simply to trust Him.
Our theme verse this year is“Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.” (Isaiah 26:4, NASB95)
This Rock is immovable; it won’t erode or wash away; it will stand during the fiercest storm. He is our Rock. I pray we would trust in the Rock, the One who loves us and cares for us, and who knows what’s best in His ultimate plan.
Join us this year in Women’s Ministry as we seek to grow together in this area of trust. We have designed every event and activity with the purpose of helping you know Jesus Christ more intimately and to make Him known.
I look forward to seeing you!
