This past year, I had the privilege of going to Israel with a group from First Evan. Those ten days greatly impacted my life as we walked where our Savior walked 2000 years ago. As I sat beside the Sea of Galilee one afternoon, I was reminded of His calling on my life years ago. As I retraced the steps God has taken me on in this journey, I renewed my commitment to Him. I want to finish well and continue carrying out my calling, even though I’m slowing down as I get older.
I also realized that day that I’m in the last third of my life, and I want to make the most of my years remaining on this earth. There are so many things that attempt to lure us away from our devotion to God — things that aren’t bad in and of themselves, but things that we begin to worship and devote ourselves to more than Him. I don’t want to waste the last third of my life devoting myself to things that have no eternal significance. I want to follow Him with a whole heart until the day He welcomes me Home.
That is my prayer for us this year in Women’s Ministry – that we would seek to have undivided devotion to the One who gave everything for us. Our theme verse this year reflects my prayer: “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” (Psalm 86:11, NIV)
Join us this year in Women’s Ministry as we seek to have a heart wholly devoted to Him. We have designed every event and activity with the purpose of helping you know Jesus Christ more intimately and to make Him known.
I look forward to seeing you!
