It’s hard to watch the news anymore. Usually, it’s about another shooting, a robbery, a suicide, child abuse, a terrorist attack, or something distressing. As our world continues to change, and the daily storms of life come upon us, how do we stand firm in our faith? How do we keep our focus on the Savior and not on the things going on around us? What are we holding onto for peace and strength in troubled times?
Thinking about these questions one day, God laid on my heart the theme of Anchored for our Women’s Ministry this year. Jesus is our Anchor; He is the One who holds us steady and keeps us from being pulled away from our faith. Doubts may creep in, but as we cling to our Anchor, we aren’t moved by the currents of the times.
Our theme verse this year is “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…” (Hebrews 6:19, NIV). This Hope is Jesus, and Jesus alone. He knows what’s around the corner; He’s aware of every storm we’ll pass through. He won’t abandon us to fend for ourselves but is with us every step of the way.
Will we hold fast to the Anchor, or will we look elsewhere for strength, guidance, and peace? My prayer for us is that we would cling to the Anchor of our soul, Jesus.
Join us this year in Women’s Ministry as we seek to become more anchored in Christ. We have designed every event and activity with the purpose of helping you know Jesus Christ more intimately and to make Him known.
I look forward to seeing you!
