Speakers
Our Friday and Saturday morning speaker is Amber Emily Smith. Amber and her husband, Granger, have been married since 2010 and live on a little farm with lots of animals in central Texas with their children, London, Lincoln, and Maverick. Their lives were forever changed when their youngest son, River, went to be with Jesus in June of 2019. Amber started Arise with Amber to share their journey through grief and how Jesus saved their lives. Her passion since their loss has been to bring good from their pain, to find meaning and purpose instead of reasons, and to share the hope we have in Jesus to a lost, hurting, and broken world.
Our Women’s Director, Christy Bicknell, will share Saturday evening. Christy joined the staff of First Evan in January 2023 after working in corporate marketing. Christy has a passion to see lives transformed through discipleship, friendships across the street and around the world, and the personal study of Scripture. Through personal experience, she understands the fight for joy within the suffering of both the unexpected and the everyday, and the need for a strong community that challenges and encourages us to be steadfast in our faith. Christy is a Rhodes College and Dallas Theological Seminary graduate. She and her husband, Curt, have been married since 2015 and have one daughter.
