FIRST EVAN APP PRIVACY POLICY

First Evangelical Church (“First Evan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of the people who use the First Evan mobile application.

Information the App Uses

Many features of the First Evan app are available without signing in. Some member and ministry-leader features use an existing First Evan TouchPoint account.

When a user connects a TouchPoint account, the app may access information maintained by First Evan in TouchPoint, including a person’s name, email address, phone number, profile photograph, household or directory information, church involvement information, and attendance-related information, as permitted by that user’s church account and permissions.

The app does not create a TouchPoint account for the user.

Picture Directory

The Picture Directory is restricted to authorized users. Directory information may include names, photographs, contact information, addresses, and household information already maintained by First Evangelical Church.

Directory information is provided for church-family purposes and should not be copied, sold, distributed, or used for commercial solicitation.

Attendance

Authorized leaders may use the app to view class rosters, create or open meetings, record attendance, and add guests. Attendance changes are stored in First Evan’s TouchPoint church-management system.

When an authorized leader creates a new guest through the app, information such as the guest’s name, email address, phone number, and guest type may be submitted to TouchPoint.

Local Storage

The app may store an authentication session on the device so the user does not need to sign in every time the app is opened. Signing out removes the app’s local TouchPoint session.

The app may also temporarily cache church content for performance and reliability. Directory photographs may be temporarily held in memory while the app is running and are not used for advertising or tracking.

Third-Party Services

The app communicates with services used by First Evangelical Church to provide its functionality. These may include TouchPoint Software, FirstEvan.org and its hosting services, Cloudflare, and media or external-link services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Apple Maps, and Apple Calendar.

When a user chooses to open an external website or service, that service’s own privacy practices may apply.

Tracking and Advertising

First Evan does not sell personal information.

The First Evan app does not use personal information for third-party advertising, advertising measurement, or cross-app tracking.

The app does not contain advertising.

How Information Is Used

Information handled through the app is used to provide church services and app functionality, authenticate authorized users, provide member-directory access, support church ministries, manage attendance, provide requested church information, and protect the security and reliability of the service.

Data Retention

Church records maintained in TouchPoint are retained according to First Evangelical Church’s operational, ministry, legal, and recordkeeping needs.

Information temporarily stored by the mobile app may be removed when the user signs out, when cached information expires, or when the app is removed from the device.

Privacy Choices, Corrections, and Deletion Requests

Users may contact First Evangelical Church to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information when applicable.

Because the app uses existing TouchPoint church accounts rather than creating accounts itself, account and church-record changes are managed through First Evangelical Church and TouchPoint.
