Whether you love theology, fiction, biography, parenting, or just intentional reflection, we hope these summer book groups offer something for everyone. Some groups meet weekly, while others are one-time dinner gatherings, making it easy to jump in, try something new, and connect with other women through good books and meaningful time together this summer.

Meeting addresses will be shared with groups after registration.

Ten Words to Live By by Jen Wilkin (Spiritual Growth/Theology)

Ten Words to Live By invites us to discover the freedom found in God’s commands as we grow in our trust and life with Him. As we read together, we’ll explore how the Ten Commandments lead us into deeper discipleship and spiritual growth in Christ.

The Parables by John MacArthur (Non-Fiction; Expository)
Hosted and led by Joanne Shidler
6:30 p.m. | June 11, 25, July 9 (three weeks)

The Parables takes a thoughtful look at some of Jesus’ most well-known parables, helping us understand both the stories themselves and what they reveal about the kingdom of God. This book will give you a new definition of parables and insight into the character of Jesus.

Considering Sparrows by Kevin Burrell (Non-Fiction/Theology)

In Considering Sparrows, we’ll see how birds, both familiar and unfamiliar, reflect truths found in Philippians. We’ll wrap up our time together with a celebration on the final night.

Storybook Conversations by various authors (Fiction)
Hosted and led by Christy Bicknell for adults and teens
6:30 p.m. | Thursday, June 11, June 25, July 2, and July 23 (four weeks; each standalone)

We’ll read two children’s lit books each gathering and use these simple but meaningful stories to spark discussion about God, ourselves, and others. Books include ElmerThe Dot, and The Tale of Three Trees, plus others. Bring your teen or young adult daughter. Each meeting is standalone, so join as you can!

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Schaffer and Annie Barrows (Historical Fiction)

9:30 a.m. | Saturday, June 13 and 17 (two weeks)

Set just after WWII, this funny story is told through letters between a London writer and the quirky residents of Guernsey Island. What begins as curiosity about an oddly named book club turns into a moving story about resilience, friendship, and how we help each other heal.

The Familiar Stranger by Tyler Staton (Non-Fiction/Theology)

Join us for dinner and discussion as we read The Familiar Stranger together. Tyler Staton explores the person and work of the Holy Spirit throughout Scripture and invites us to consider what that means for our daily lives.

Join us for dinner and discussion as we read the extraordinary true story of missionary Darlene Deibler Rose during World War II. From serving in New Guinea to years spent in a Japanese prison camp, her story is a powerful testimony to God’s faithfulness in suffering.

The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis (Non-Fiction; Theology; Apologetics)

The Problem of Pain explores one of life’s hardest questions: if God is good, why does suffering exist? The book is for anyone who wants to think and feel deeply about the role of suffering and our response to it as Christians. Childcare provided if space allows; option for evening group if there's enough interest.

Parenting with Hope: Raising Teens for Christ in a Secular Age by Melissa Kruger (Christian Parenting)

6:30 pm | July 23 (one-time)

Join us as we read together through Parenting with Hope. This encouraging book offers wisdom for mothers seeking to be more intentional in the discipleship of their children and have a time devoted to prayer for our children, spouses, and ourselves as we learn to follow Christ and simultaneously strive to teach our children how to follow Him too. No childcare provided; option for additional morning group with childcare if there's enough interest.
