Jesus wants shepherds to be difference makers in the lives of His sheep. For those who follow His guidance, a future day is coming that will be off-the-chart amazing. Here’s how Peter describes it: And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory (1 Peter 5:4). A reward that never grows dim, even a million years from now – that is what good shepherds have to look forward to. And Jesus has not left us to wonder what shepherds need to do to warrant that reward. Interested?

Come to the 2022 Midweek class called “Shepherdology 101,” to be taught by Pastor Jim Fleming. This class is open to elders, non-sitting elders, those who aspire to someday become elders, those who want to shepherd their family well, and anyone else who is interested in understanding what Jesus expects of church and family shepherds. There are 10 key passages in the New Testament that explain exactly what Jesus says defines a good shepherd. You will come away from this class understanding all 10.

Women’s  Track:  The First Evan elders are also opening this class up to women (some joint sessions, some break-out sessions led by Rochelle Fleming) who want to partner well with their husbands/shepherds. In addition to receiving the resources men receive, women will also be given an additional workbook that is just for women who want to be difference makers in the lives of others.

Both men and women must pre-register for the course so we can have suitable materials on-hand. You will receive a complete course workbook, a practice guide, and other resources. This course will begin at 6:15 on January 12 and conclude on April 27. (Class will not convene during spring break on March 16.)

Know someone else who might be interested? Tell them they are welcome and encourage them to register before January 5. Know someone from another church who might be interested, they are welcome, too.
