Our Mission
Memphis Ministries exists to motivate and equip First Evan to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18–20) through seeking the welfare of our city (Jeremiah 29:7).
Our Values
Perspectives
To adopt gospel-centered, biblically-based perspectives for engaging our neighbor. These perspectives equip us to accurately communicate the gospel and to holistically love our neighbor next door, and our neighbor across the city (Romans 12:1–2).
INTRODUCTIONS
To catalyze introductions to our neighbors - to know them personally so that we can love them as we love ourselves. We can better love our neighbor when we know our neighbor (Matthew 22:37–39).
ENGAGEMENT
To cultivate engagement, which is a faithful pursuit of mutually beneficial relationships. We will aim to graciously and truthfully communicate the gospel in word and deed, and our efforts are not dependent on gospel acceptance (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
Our Vision
Gospel Proclamation
is the intentional effort to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ with grace and truth to all of our neighbors (Matthew 28:18-20, Titus 3:3–7).
Gospel Presence
is loving and engaging our neighbor in the places we live, work, serve, and play (Proverbs 3:27-28; 1 Corinthians 13:1-3).
Gospel Resilience
is loving our neighbor with patience, kindness, and endurance, regardless of how they respond to the gospel. (Mark 4:16-17; John 15:18-19).
Gospel Reconciliation
is being God’s ambassadors in the ministry of reconciliation, by loving our neighbor in the same way we would our own family members (1 Thessalonians 2:1-8).
