Abounding in Christ Together in the Second Season — “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things, at all times, you may abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
A group for widows that meets the first Monday of each month in the Chapel for prayer & fellowship with widows, unless we have an outing. Our outreach is with our new widows in their first year of widowhood. They need not be members of our church. For more information about this ministry please contact Cathy Graham at 685-1028 or 299-1426 (cell).
This is a special ministry designed to meet the needs of our homebound seniors. This ministry was started over 10 years ago by Beverly Frazier. He Cares meets on the last Thursday of each month except for December. “Dear Ones” usually arrive between 10:00 a.m. and stay until around 2:00 p.m. The day consists of fellowship, prayer time, arts and crafts, a special chapel service with communion, lunch, and special music. Every “Dear One” is assigned at least one caregiver that stays with them throughout the day. This is also a ministry for the caregivers of the “Dear Ones” who can have a day to run errands, shop, or just take a nap. For more information about this ministry please contact Rhonda Finfrock at 683-0757.
"Let Your steadfast love comfort me according to Your promise to your servant." (Psalm 119:76)
The goal of this ministry is to touch the lives of those of our church family who are no longer able to join us in the fellowship of worship and service. This touch will consist of brief monthly visits by teams of two providing hugs, baked goods or flowers, prayers, and a listening ear. This ministry is for those who have a heart for visiting the homebound wherever their current home may be. For more information about this ministry please contact Linda Lambert by text at 832-9314.
Caregivers is a ministry designed to meet the needs of our caregivers here at First Evan and in other churches around the area. The saying goes that, “either you have been a caregiver, are a caregiver, or are going to be a caregiver.” Caregivers meet every other month on the fourth Monday of the month in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. We have a prayer time and a special guest speaker on various topics of interest to our many caregivers. For further information about this ministry please contact Jerry Johnston at 674-1525 or Joan Johnston at 674-1425.
This ministry involves many of our elders and other leaders in the church conducting a Bible study in a retirement home, assisted living, or nursing home. This is truly an outreach ministry as the gospel is being proclaimed in these homes throughout the Memphis area. All the residents are welcome to attend regardless of their spiritual background and those looking into Christianity are most certainly welcome. Usually each facility will have one 20–30 minute Bible study per week. For more information about this ministry please contact Larry Fitzgerald at 212-6758.
This ministry is designed to bring a worship service to a retirement home or other type of senior adult home where residents are not able to get out to church on a regular basis. The service includes music, prayer, Scripture reading, special music, an expository message from the Bible, and communion. People of all backgrounds are welcome to attend. Currently we are offering one worship service on the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Town Hall room at the Town Village located on Park and Cherry here in Memphis. For more information on this ministry please contact Joe Meals at 568-9912.
