Student Ministries Summer Camp
June 10-15, 2012 - Crossings Camps - Hardin, Kentucky
SUMMER CAMP FORMS
All summer camp participants need to fill out a Medical Release Form and POI form. Click here to access the Crossings Camps website.
A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP
Want to know what camp is like? Click here to find a schedule of what camp is like!
WHAT TO BRING
Want to know what to bring with you? Click here for a list of everything you need to bring. As far as spending money for the week, $20-$30 should be enough....but please make sure that your child has an additional $10 that they can hand me when they get on the bus to camp for meals as we travel back and forth to/from camp.
CELL PHONES
We strongly encourage you to leave your cell phone at home while you are at camp. With lots of water activities at camp, the chance that you will drown your phone is not worth the risk! And your phone can be a huge distraction, too, so just leave it! You won't need it! Our chaperones will have their phones so if you need to call home that will be the best way to do it.
THE ITINERARY
LEAVING FOR CAMP: SUNDAY, JUNE 10 - 11AM
Bring all your stuff with you to church that morning, students can come to church dressed for camp (khaki shorts and a t-shirt is fine). Right after 1st hour, grab your stuff and we will load the buses and head out. Please be in the First Evan parking lot with all your stuff by 10:45am. We will leave as soon as everything is ready to go.
RETURNING FROM CAMP: FRIDAY, JUNE 15 - 3PM
We will have a special voicemail setup so that you can know exactly when we will arrive back at the church. Please call 901-328-1981 to hear a voicemail with an updated time of arrival.

REGISTERING FOR CAMP
Though the deadline to sign up for summer camp has passed we do have spots still available! You can call us at 901-682-8452 and ask for Bobi Burns or Andrew Beach or email us at bobi@firstevan.org or andrew@firstevan.org to sign up!
TELL ME THE DETAILS
What a better way to kick-off your summer than heading to camp with over 400 other students! Crossings Camp at Jonathan Creek is located next to beautiful Kentucky Lake, just 3 hours from Memphis. All students entering 7th-12th grades are invited to join us! Activities include tubing, a zipline, a ropes course, a water obstacle course, bazooka ball (imagine a paintball gun shooting nerf balls), high-energy worship, great teaching, small groups, and lots of memories.
TELL ME THE COST
Camp costs $390.
TELL ME HOW TO RESERVE A SPOT
A $75 non-refundable deposit will be due by February 8th to
reserve a spot for the trip. You can pay online (see below) or hand in a check made payable to "First Evan" with "Summer Camp" in the memo line. Space may be available after February 8th on a limited basis.
TELL ME HOW TO PAY FOR CAMP
After the initial deposit you can pay for the trip in increments by clicking here for the payment plan.. Or you can pay the full balance at any time. We will be providing a fundraising opportunity this year that, if your
teenager diligently participates, should raise 25% of the cost of this
trip. More details on the fundraiser will be coming soon.
TELL ME WHAT CAMP IS LIKE
A typical day of camp includes: high-energy morning session of worship and fun, a small group Bible study, a large group Bible study from the camp speaker, afternoon activities (tubing, zipline, water obstacle course, etc), an evening worship session, small group time with just First Evan students, and late-night hang out time. For a detailed schedule, go to www.crossingscamps.org/2012camp/schedule/
TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT
This is the 3rd year we will be going to Crossings Camps. We have seen students lives changed as a result of camp. It is a place where students encounter Jesus and are surrounded by godly people. The theme for camp this year is "I Am Jonah" and will cover the following topics: God calls Jonah, God hears Jonah, God sends Jonah, God corrects Jonah. Crossings Camps has college staff that lead daily Bible studies and activities, but First Evan will have chaperones that stay in gender separate accommodations with our students.
TELL ME WHO TO TALK TO IF I HAVE QUESTIONS
You can call the Student Ministries office at 901-682-8452 x1200 with questions. Or you can email Andrew Beach, Youth Pastor at First Evan, at andrew@firstevan.org or Bobi Burns, Youth Ministries Secretary, at bobi@firstevan.org.
We hope to see you at summer camp!!
