Potential Fall 2017 STICs

Restore Corps

Thursdays, September 16–October 28, 5:30–7:00 p.m. (except October 12 for fall break), The Blossom House (*We cannot share the address for the sake of the security of the clients. But it is in the Binghampton neighborhood of Memphis and we will give you the address once the team is signed up.)

Restore Corps exists to eradicate human trafficking by empowering survivors, equipping communities, and seeking justice through systemic change. To that end, they receive referrals from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) for all women who were victims of human trafficking crimes in the 21 counties of West Tennessee. Restore Corps provides housing, rehabilitation, and life skills to these women so that they can successfully assimilate. These women now live at The Blossom House, a home specifically designated for Restore Corps.

What’s the STIC? This STIC will involve designing and implementing a landscaping design so the Blossom House resembles its name! By maintaining and developing the landscaping around the property we hope to provide a beautiful environment for these women.

What’s the STIC? Our goal for this STIC is for men from First Evan to grow in compassion for these men and others like them through building relationships with the men at Forgiveness House. We will do that by attending the weekly Tuesday night dinner and Bible study at Forgiveness House. Because this ministry only serves men, we are limited to only inviting men to serve at this STIC.

3 days a week the First Evan gym is open for pick-up basketball games. Of the 15–20 men that come each day, none of them have any connection to First Evan. Our goal is to meet these men where they are: on the court. We hope to build friendships with them in order to share the gospel with them.

What’s the STIC? The goal is to replace our lunch hour with a mission trip! Whether you go out to lunch, exercise during lunch time, or just sit at your desk with a sandwich, we’d like to invite you to build a new friendship with men who might need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
