Our purpose is to connect kids to God, His Word, each other, and their families. We want to make God's Word exciting and fun to kids and to use that excitement to educate children about God and to build strong relationships between children, teachers, and parents. We feel honored that you have chosen to entrust your children to us. We do our utmost to make sure that children at First Evan are safe and cared for and that they learn about the love of Jesus Christ while they are here. Our goal is for children to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ and to know and love God's Word, as well as give families the opportunity to build community with people who love God. We believe that God has given the ultimate responsibility of discipleship to parents—our job is to come alongside parents with tools and opportunities for community and discipleship at church and home. If you are looking to get plugged in at First Evan, you may want to consider our Awana program on Wednesday nights or volunteering in Children's Ministry. Catch me in the halls on Sunday morning or feel free to call or email me if you have any questions. I would love to meet you!
Director of Children's Ministry
We want to make the Body aware of a staff transition in the Children's Ministry. By now, many of you are already aware that Jessica will be leaving our staff at the end of June. She has done so many amazing things with our Children's Ministry and she will be sorely missed. Jessica is a very talented artist and is stepping out of the Children’s Director role to further pursue her passion for art and spend more time as a mom and wife.
You may or may not have heard that beginning July 1, Cortney Cannon will be assuming the Children's Ministry Director position. We feel that God has especially set the table for this transition in bringing Cortney to us a couple of years ago, allowing her to gain valuable experience with Jessica and the rest of the team and now sensing God's leading into this new role.
Please keep Jessica, Cortney, and the entire Children's Ministry in your prayers during this time of transition and beyond.
