In January 1999, the Lord began the process of moving Taylor into the pastorate of First Evan's brand new daughter church, Christ Evangelical. In April of '99 he became Christ Evan's first Sr. Pastor where he served through December of 2004.

In January of 2005, Taylor and his wife Debbie returned to First Evan as Associate Pastor for Pastoral Counseling and Young Adults.  He returned to his current position of Executive Pastor in August of 2007.

  • Life verse: “Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”  1 Peter 5:1-3
  • Favorite foods:  I love lobster!  Not that I can actually afford to eat it, but it is my favorite.
  • Favorite movie and why: Ollie Hopnoodles Haven of Bliss.  Why? You had to be there.
  • Hobbies/Pastimes/Interests: Mostly following my kids to their activities.  I do like to try and put at least one deer in the freezer a year.  Watching cop and lawyer shows.  Working in disaster assistance.  Trying restaurants most people would be afraid to walk into.
  • Ambitions/Aspirations: In the unlikely category: to either land a jet liner because the pilot passed out or help deliver a baby in a stuck elevator.  In the likely category: To travel to major disaster sites around the world and be involved in rescue and relief work.
  • A Favorite Quote: “Good spiritual counselors don’t heal anyone, they try to bring the troubled soul into God’s presence, remove the confusion and subterfuge of sin and self, and let God’s Spirit have his way.”   Gary Thomas
  • What do you like to read: For Pleasure: Things with lots of trivial information and Clancy or Grisham-style novels.  For Purpose: Counseling and people-helping books and periodicals and general spiritual growth and development books and articles.  I also confess I read Reminisce magazine.  I don’t know why – I just like it.
  • People are surprised to know:  I used to be a jeweler.
