Don Warren (don@firstevan.org)
Administration

Don was born in San Antonio, Texas. He is a nomad in the sense that he has lived in three different countries and several states within the U.S.  Don has lived in the Azores, islands off of Portugal, California, Florida, as well as the country of Haiti.  Upon graduating from High School in Haiti, he headed to the windy city of Chicago for college.

Don joined the staff of First Evan in 1992 after graduating from Moody Bible Institute with a B.A. in pastoral studies.  He came to First Evan to serve as the junior high youth pastor.  After 5 years he moved into the Recreation Ministry where he served for two years until assuming his current role as Pastor of Administration.

Don is married to Sabrina who he met after coming on staff at First Evan.  Though growing up in a family of all boys, he is now surrounded by women.  Don and Sabrina have two girls, Abigail and Hannah.

  • Life verse: “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.  Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which Christ has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12-14)
  • Favorite foods:  Desserts are the best part of any meal.  I also enjoy Mexican and spicy foods.
  • Favorite movie and why: The Fugitive.  A good example of the truth setting one free.  I like good clean suspense movies.
  • Hobbies/Pastimes/Interests: Florida State Football, Dallas Cowboys football and University of Memphis Tigers Basketball.  I enjoy most sports and I enjoy riding bikes with my family.
  • Ambitions/Aspirations: To see my girls grow up to love God and serve Him in whatever capacity He calls them to.
  • What do you like to read: For pleasure I like to read good mystery novels (Clancy, Grishim, etc.) and current events.  For the mind and soul, I like to read books that cause me to think and look at things from a different perspective.
  • People are surprised to know:  I was a PK and an MK growing up.
  • A favorite quote: “Stressed is desserts spelled backwards.” (unknown). More seriously - “Character is who you are in the dark.” (D.L. Moody)
