Ben Killerlain was born in Denver and raised in the beautiful Rockies of Colorado. He attended junior high and high school in Tulsa, OK where he came into a relationship with Jesus Christ through the ministry of Young Life. He attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO graduating with degrees in Business Administration and Communications, and recently finished his Masters at Dallas Seminary. He has been in fulltime work with students for over 12 years serving with Young Life and Scofield Memorial Church in Dallas, TX.
On October 13th, 2007 Ben became the luckiest man he knows by marrying his sweet bride Pam. Together they are passionate about reaching College students for Christ. Ben is an avid barbecuer and griller as well as a Denver Broncos fan.
- Life verse: “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us” (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
- Favorite foods: Barbecue….
- Favorite movie and why: can I say, Braveheart, the struggle for freedom inspires me as I look to His return when the struggle I have for freedom will be consummated….
- Hobbies/Pastimes/Interests: I enjoy working out, sports, and the outdoors. I am almost always happy to throw a football, or return to the Rockies. I never miss Denver Broncos games (thanks to DVR’s) and I don’t mind smoking a brisket or pork shoulder when I get the chance.
- Ambitions/Aspirations: I would like to look back on my life and say I lived a life worthy of the calling I received. I am looking forward to starting a family. I would love to stand on every continent.
- What do you like to read: Classical authors, or men steeped in the classics- John Piper, Henri Nouwen, Richard Foster, and Brennan Manning. I have also started to enjoy early American history.
- People are surprised to know: My dad is 5’9 and 160 soaking wet.
- Best counsel/advice you’ve ever been given: “Stay in the Word, and you’ll stay with the Word”
